The majority of the world’s population now has a camera in their pocket. People everywhere are turning to video to document and tell stories of abuse. But all too often, they are not filming safely or effectively, and their videos don’t make a difference. WITNESS identifies critical situations and teaches those affected by them the basics of video production, safe and ethical filming techniques, and advocacy strategies.

Witness commissioned us to conduct an evaluation of its 2013-2019 “Cameras Everywhere Initiative”, which was funded in part by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) since 2013.  ODS’ evaluation of the Cameras Everywhere Initiative set out to assess the relevance, effectiveness, growth, and impact of the project and its assumptions. The evaluation also informed implementation of the final year of WITNESS’ Strategic Plan (2019-2020), the subsequent year of operations (2020-2021), and any future iterations of the organisation´s strategic plan and vision (5-10-year horizon).
