The International Institute for Environment & Development

The  International Institute for Environment & Development (IIED) is a policy and action research organisation. They promote sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. They specialise in linking local priorities to global challenges. IIED is based in London and works in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific, with some of the world’s most vulnerable people. IIED works with them to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them — from village councils to international conventions.

ODS was contracted to provide support in the definition of the institutional relationship between IIED and the Green Economy Coalition (GEC). This included providing advice on a proposed delivery model as the right structure for GEC to achieve its growth; providing advice on the institutional relationship between GEC and its host, IIED, and clarifying the legal status of GEC.
